Our Inspiration

Most schools have a mascot and we are no exception.

However, as an educational institution founded by slightly rebellious math and science nerds, we wanted a mascot as weird as we are.

Introducing:

Leopold Lemon

Our school mascot is an anthropomorphic lemon.  (A human body with a lemon for a head)

While having a mascot based on a food instead of a person or animal is definately uncommon - it is not completely unheard of.

For example, Ohio State University has a mascot based on a literal nut, Brutus Buckeye

Our founders had to be talked out of using the following as our official motto:

"An academic institution?  I thought this was a lemonade stand."

As a compromise, it's now the school mascot's motto.

We came up with some concept art but none of it felt quite right so we thought we would ask the community for help finalizing the school mascot.

The school colors are dark blue and gold but feel free to get creative.  Please try to keep the design PG-13 and reasonable in number.

We may not be able to respond to everyone who sends us a drawing but might feature it on our website.  The artist can decide if they want to be named or have us post it anonymously.
